Brian is a Partner and co-founder of The Abacus Group. Brian graduated from Skidmore College in 1990 with a BS in Accounting. He also holds an MBA in Finance from St. John’s University. His professional experience includes working in the controllers group at Goldman Sachs and as a Manager of Finance at Alliance Capital.

Len Frankel, CPA
Len is a Partner and co-founder of The Abacus Group. Len graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1985 with a BA in Accounting. His work experience includes several years as an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young, as well as controllership positions in the manufacturing and retail industries. Len is a CPA in the State of New York.

Laurie F. Kotton, CPA
Laurie is a Principal in the Accounting/Finance Division. Laurie graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1980 with a BS in Accounting. Her work experience includes several years as an Auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, as well as Controllership/Financial Reporting positions at Merrill Lynch and MetLife. Laurie is a CPA in the State of Connecticut. She also sits on various committees of the Financial Women's Association, and is a member of The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Adam Haworth, CPA
Adam is a Director in the Accounting/Finance Division. Adam graduated from Binghamton University in 1994 with a BS in Accounting. He is also a CPA and holds an MBA in Finance from New York’s University's Stern School of Business. His work experience includes public accounting at Deloitte and Touche, along with various corporate finance positions within Fortune 500 companies and start-up environments.

Robert B. Pickus, CPA
Robert is a Director in the Accounting/Finance Division. Robert graduated from the University at Albany in 1991 with a BS in Accounting. His work experience includes several years as an Auditor with RSM McGladrey. Robert is a CPA in the State of New York. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Nassau Chapter. He was also instrumental in the development of the Nassau Chapter's Young CPAs Committee, where he served as Chairperson for 2 years.

Brian Ruina
Brian is the Director of the Temporary Staffing Division. Brian graduated from Kutztown University in 1999 and has been with Abacus for many years. His prior work experience includes Corporate Finance roles at Bluestone Capital. Brian started as a permanent recruiter in the Accounting/Finance Division; he was then tapped to head up our Abacus Staffing arm, which has experienced rapid growth during his tenure.

Gennaro Vitale, CPA
Gennaro is a Director in the Accounting/Finance Division. Gennaro graduated from Seton Hall University in 1995 with a BS in Accounting. His previous experience includes several years in Public Accounting. He is a CPA in the state of New Jersey. Gennaro has been with the Abacus team since 1999.

Philip Vogiatzoglou
Philip is a Director in the Accounting/Finance Division. Philip graduated from Pace University's Lubin School of Business, with a BBA degree in Public Accounting. His prior work experience includes positions within both public accounting and the private corporate finance worlds. He is one of our most tenured recruiters, having been with the firm almost since its inception. Philip participates in and is a member of various professional Accounting/Finance networking organizations throughout NYC and Westchester.

Charles Amato
Charles is a Manager in the Accounting/Finance Division. Charles graduated from Wagner College in 1998 with a BS degree in Accounting. Before joining Abacus, Charles worked as an Auditor at KPMG in their financial services practice. In addition to recruitment, Charles is responsible for training, developing and mentoring staff.
